I will help you improve your Linkedin today!
Linkedin is a very useful tool within the professional business marketplace. Using Linkedin to engage and connect with professionals is key online. Making sure your professionally highlighted on Linkedin is vital!
Having a profile that stands out, that is professionally and personally branded and that sells you is key to ensuring proactive engagement.
Here are my top tips;
1) Writing a Personal Tagline
The line of text that displays under your name is extremely important as its the 1st thing that other professionals will see when doing any form of search for your or your company. Its important that this line of text is professional and portrays you as a professional in the right way. Remember a touch of personality with an eye catching phrase about you may work wonders!
2) What are your key skills?
When your writing in the specialities box be aware that this is fully optimised as part of the search and through google. Any information you put in this box distinguishes you, your company and professional capacity. Always ensure you add buzzwords, key skills, professional performance highlights and even a note of humour or passion.
3) Whats is your professional experience?
Ensure that the reader of your profile understands you and your professional capacity. Explain what the company does and what your experience is/was. Make sure any information you add is noted in easily readable chunks.
4) Improve your Google PageRank / Search-a-bility
Make sure you pat your own back and others to. Get recommendations from colleagues, clients and employers who can speak credibly about your abilities or performance. Make sure when you ask for a recommendation you request varied opinions about your professional key skills / experience. Remember the more links to and from your profile the better and higher up you will feature on search engines!
5) Picture This…
When uploading a picture remember your face is your brand and the picture must be professional and show some personality. Typically large organisations will get a professional photographer in and make pictures uniform however if you don’t have this nicety use a professional camera, get suited or booted and smile!
